When spring comes around, Benalmádena is a really lovely place to be. The weather is sunny and mild, there's hardly any rain, and the beach vibes are already in full swing. The sea's still a bit chilly, but some beaches benefit from warmer currents, making quick dips refreshing. 

It's perfect for families, seniors, and budget travellers. May is when the Jacaranda trees come into bloom, and there are some great deals to be had. 

Keep in mind:  Most public beaches officially open end of May , when lifeguards and full services are in place — so early spring visitors might find fewer supervised facilities.

Summer in Benalmádena brings long, sunny days perfect for beach time, water sports, and boat trips. The town is buzzing, with all services and attractions running at full capacity.

The best thing about it is that you get the full summer vibe – every shop, restaurant and beach bar is open and doing well.  The only thing to watch out for is that it gets very busy. Foreign tourist arrivals in July–August 2024 were up 8.9% compared to 2019 (INE), and prices for accommodation, dining, tours and tickets are at their highest.

Autumn in Benalmádena brings warm days, fewer visitors and a much more relaxed atmosphere. The beach is still great, sightseeing is enjoyable, and you can experience the town without the summer buzz.

The best thing about it are the post-summer deals: accommodation, dining and activities are all more affordable. This makes it ideal for retirees and families with young children who are not yet tied to the school calendar. 

The only thing to note is that some beach services start winding down by late October.

While it’s not quite beach weather, Benalmádena's winter is perfect for exploring the town and its surrounding attractions.

The best thing about it is the low prices – flights, accommodation and dining out are at their most affordable. This makes it ideal for budget travellers and anyone looking for a quiet, relaxed getaway. What's more, Benalmádena is just 30 minutes from Málaga by suburban train, giving you easy access to museums, historic sites, and cultural events all winter long.
