About Us
We are Tanya and Izi, a multilingual family living in Spain for the last five years with our lovely children
We speak Bulgarian, German and English fluently, but our Spanish is still a work in progress. Despite the language barrier, we have fallen in love with the culture, people and places that make Spain such a unique and vibrant country.
We are on a mission to discover the hidden gems of Spain and share our adventures with you. Whether you're looking for the perfect beach, the best tapas bar, or need help navigating the Spanish bureaucracy, we're here to help.
We'll also share our experiences as expats, the challenges we've faced, and the lessons we've learned along the way. Join us as we explore the diverse regions of Spain, from the lush forests of Galicia to the sun-drenched beaches of Andalusia.
Let's discover together what makes Spain so special, and maybe even improve our Spanish along the way!
¡Bienvenidos a nuestro blog!
More About Tanya
Hola! I'm Tanya, and I'm thrilled to be here! I'm a mother of two toddlers, a qualified German teacher, and an outgoing globetrotter.
I revel in exploring new destinations and meeting incredible people. As a passionate writer, I strive to share the best of Spanish culture, cuisine, and compelling stories with my audience. My mission is to blend these rich experiences into narratives that inspire and inform those who, like me, have fallen in love with the beauty and charm of Spain.
Five years ago, I made the bold decision to start a new life in Spain, embarking on this journey alone. I landed in Valencia, where I spent three transformative months. During this time, I reconnected with an old colleague, Izi, and our friendship flourished in the vibrant city.
Inspired by our shared sense of adventure, Izi and I decided to explore southern Spain, setting our sights on the picturesque Costa del Sol. We first settled in Torremolinos, but it wasn’t long before we discovered our dream home—a charming two-floor apartment in Benalmádena.
After years in the corporate world, where I thrived as a team leader, Izi and I felt a calling for a more fulfilling path. We yearned for work that was not solely about financial gain but also about joy, relaxation, and providing value to others. This new chapter of our lives was about helping others find their own paradise in Spain, whether they were seeking a holiday getaway or a fresh start.
More About Izi
My full name is Izidor, but my friends call me Izi. I’m an IT professional, sales expert, avid traveller, Spain enthusiast and content writer.
I feel so lucky to have lived in Spain for the past five years! It's been a dream come true, and I've loved discovering and sharing the country's hidden treasures with you.
I’m originally from Bulgaria, but I’ve also had the chance to live in Germany and Malta. I absolutely love exploring the captivating landscapes and vibrant culture of Spain!
People often describe me as temperamental and stubborn – traits that can be both challenging and advantageous, depending on the situation.
My diverse background as a flight attendant, combined with recent years in SaaS sales and the IT industry, has given my love of travel a tech-savvy flair.
I consider myself very lucky to have reunited with Tanya in Valencia, Spain, and that we are now a happy family of four.
