Torremolinos holds a special place in our hearts as it was the first town we spent three months in after arriving on the Costa del Sol. 

Before settling down with our family in Benalmádena, we stayed in an Airbnb in Torremolinos, where we also started our first digital jobs.

In this guide, I'll take you through everything you need to know about visiting Torremolinos - from booking the best accommodation and navigating its beaches to discovering the top attractions and local hotspots.

Torremolinos offers a wide range of hotels to suit all budgets, ensuring that everyone can enjoy a comfortable stay. I've divided the options into three categories - luxury, mid-range and budget hotels - to help you find the one that best suits your needs:

Summers in Torremolinos are typically hot and dry, with average highs in the low 30s, perfect for soaking up the sun on the stunning beaches. 

Winters are mild, with temperatures rarely dropping below 10°C (50°F), making it a pleasant escape from harsher winter climates.
While rain is rare, the wettest months tend to be November and February. 

Coastal breezes keep the summer heat manageable, but it's always wise to pack for the occasional cool evening or unexpected shower.

When you book your holiday to Torremolinos you have a number of options depending on where you're flying from.

Torremolinos itself doesn't have an airport, but the nearest airport is Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport (AGP), which is just 11 minutes (6.9km / 4.3 miles) from Torremolinos by car.

Here's a quick guide to flight times and prices from major tourist hubs:

• USA: Flights from the USA usually require a stopover, with prices starting at around $500. Flight times are usually between 10 and 15 hours, depending on connections.

• UK: Direct flights from the UK to Malaga take approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. Budget airlines such as Ryanair and EasyJet offer fares from as little as £30.

• Germany: Flights from Germany - especially from cities such as Frankfurt or Berlin - take about 2.5 to 3 hours and cost from €60 for a one-way ticket.

• France: Direct flights from Paris to Malaga take around 2 hours and cost from around €50.

Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport (AGP) is the main gateway for travellers to Torremolinos, which is just 6.9 km (4.3 miles) or a 10-11 minute drive away. 

Once you have landed, there are several convenient ways to get around the city:

• Taxis: Taxis are readily available outside the terminal. A trip to Torremolinos costs around €15-20 and takes around 10 minutes.

• Train: The C1 Cercanías train service is an easy and affordable option. The station is right outside the airport and trains run every 20 minutes. A one-way ticket to Torremolinos costs around €2 and the journey takes just 10 minutes.

• Buses: You can also take the A line bus, which connects the airport to the city of Málaga, stopping in Torremolinos along the way. The fare is around €3.
  

• Shuttles: Private and shared shuttle services are available if you're looking for a hassle-free transfer. These can be pre-booked and will take you directly to your accommodation.
  

☝️Handy Tip: If you're travelling with luggage, the train is one of the most convenient and affordable ways to get to Torremolinos.

Torremolinos follows the same time zone as the rest of Spain: Central European Time (CET), which is 1 hour ahead of UTC (Coordinated Universal Time).

• During the summer months Torremolinos, like most European cities, switches to Central European Summer Time (CEST), which is 2 hours ahead of UTC. 
• In winter, Torremolinos is one hour ahead of London, which means that when it's noon in London, it's 1pm in Torremolinos. In summer, with daylight saving time, Torremolinos is two hours ahead of London.

Be sure to take this into account when planning your trip and adjusting to the local time.
