Me and Izi spent our first 3 months on the Costa del Sol in Torremolinos before moving to Benalmadena to settle down with our family of 4. However, for party animals, open-minded young generations and sea lovers we have prepared this insightful guide to help you make the most of your time here. 

Torremolinos is a vibrant coastal town on the Alboran Sea in the heart of Andalucia, Spain, only 4.4 miles by car from Malaga Airport (AGP).

It's a popular spot on the Costa del Sol, conveniently located near other popular destinations such as Benalmádena, Mijas, Fuengirola and Marbella, making it an excellent base for exploring the region.

Torremolinos boasts a crazy nightlife scene with numerous clubs, celebrated for its welcoming atmosphere and acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community and people of all orientations.

Torremolinos stretches along a stunning coastline, offering a seemingly endless stretch of beautiful beaches! 

With plenty of space to relax, you can soak up the sun on the golden sands, cool off in the clear waters or even find a spot to chill out in the shade of palm trees on the grassy areas.

Parque La Batería: A must-visit in the summer! 

You can stroll along the bright walkways, work out, skate or let the kids burn off some energy in the playground. There's even a fun 'Mouse House' to explore! 

Getting there is easy, with the train station (train stop Montemar Alto) a short walk away or plenty of free parking.

The Crocodile Park in Torremolinos is a must!

Torremolinos is only about 4.4 miles away from Malaga airport (AGP), which takes around 13 minutes by car. 

For a budget-friendly option, hop on the C1 metro line for a direct journey to the town center in about 23 minutes.

Taking a local taxi, Cabify, Uber from Malaga Airport (AGP) to Torremolinos will cost you around £8-10.

Torremolinos and Benalmádena are next door, only 4.5 miles apart, making them perfect for a day trip. 

You can expect a 13 minute drive (4.5 miles) or a quick 9 minute train ride to the centre of Benalmádena (Arroyo de la Miel).
