• Winters are mild, with temperatures rarely dropping below 10°C (50°F), offering a pleasant escape from colder climates.

While rain is infrequent, the wettest months are typically November and February. Coastal breezes help keep the summer heat manageable, but it’s wise to pack for the occasional cooler evening or unexpected rain shower.

When you book your holiday to Benalmádena, you'll fly into Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport (AGP), which is just a 13 minute drive (12.4km / 7.7 miles) away. This airport offers great connections to major tourist hubs, making your journey as smooth as possible.

• USA: Flights from the USA usually involve a stopover, with prices starting at around $500. Flight times range from 10 to 15 hours, depending on stopovers.

• UK: Direct flights from the UK to Malaga take around 2.5 to 3 hours, with budget airlines such as Ryanair and EasyJet offering fares from as little as £30.

• Germany: Flights from major cities such as Frankfurt and Berlin take around 2.5 to 3 hours and one-way tickets start from €60.

• France: Direct flights from Paris to Málaga take around 2 hours and cost from around €50.

Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport (AGP) is the main gateway for travellers to Benalmádena, which is just 12.4km (7.7 miles) away, a short 13-minute drive.

Once you've landed, here are some easy ways to get to the city:

• Taxis: Available just outside the terminal, a trip to Benalmádena costs around €20-25 and takes around 13 minutes.

• Train: The C1 Cercanías line is a quick and inexpensive option. The station is at the airport and trains run every 20 minutes. A one-way ticket to Benalmádena costs around €2.50 and the journey takes around 17 minutes.
  

• Buses: The A line bus connects the airport with Málaga, stopping in Benalmádena en route. Tickets cost around €4 and the journey takes around 20 minutes.

• Shuttles: Both private and shared shuttle services are available, providing a direct and hassle-free transfer to your accommodation. These can be pre-booked for convenience.
  

Tip: If you're travelling with luggage, the train offers a cheap and convenient transfer to Benalmádena.

Benalmádena follows the same time zone as the rest of Spain: Central European Time (CET), which is 1 hour ahead of UTC (Coordinated Universal Time).

• During the summer months, like most European cities, Benalmádena switches to Central European Summer Time (CEST), which is 2 hours ahead of UTC. In summer, with daylight saving time, Benalmádena is two hours ahead of London.
• In winter, Benalmádena is one hour ahead of London, which means that if it's noon in London, it's 1pm in Benalmádena, or Central European Time.
